How to End 2014 on a High Note for Your Business

How to End 2014 on a High Note for Your BusinessAs 2014 draws to a close, it’s important to tie up any loose ends so that your business can start 2015 with a bang. Before you head off to enjoy the holiday season and the start of the New Year, make sure to attend to these tasks first:

Give performance reviews

When your employees are performing their best, your company thrives. One way to ensure that everyone is focused and committed is by doing regular performance reviews; the end of the year is the great time to do this. You can offer constructive criticism and praise to your team, and can also hear feedback from them about how your business can improve next year.

Get all accounting issues resolved

Make sure all expenses are entered into the system, and verify that all bills are paid. You should also ensure that the necessary paperwork is in order for next tax season.

Check in with your clients

Your relationships with existing clients are crucial to the success of your company, so take some time to check in with your clients and make sure that they’re satisfied. How could you serve them more effectively in 2015? Are there additional services that you offer that they may be interested in next year?

Create both short and long-term goals for the start of the New Year

Ideally you want to enter into 2015 with a list of both short and long-term goals for your business. What would you like to achieve in the first few months of the New Year? How about in the first six months? What about by the end of 2015? Having this kind of vision in mind helps to keep your business on track, just don’t forget to share it with your employees!
