4 Ways a Company Blog Can Add Value to Your Recruiting Agency

As a recruiting agency owner, it is important to realize the value a company blog can add to your business.  Not only can a blog provide a way for you to reach out to your clients and candidates, but it can also support the fact that your business is knowledgeable when it comes to industry news and subject matter.

There are 4 key ways how your company blog can bring value:

1. Provide Value to Clients

When you have a company blog, it is important that you are focusing on subject matter that your existing and future clients will find valuable.

Are you using your blog to simply advertise your business, or are you using your blog to provide important industry-related news and tips to your clients?

If you do not have someone staying up-to-date on industry-related news that affects your clients, you should.  By discussing hot industry trends and tips on your blog, your clients will visit your blog more often, realizing that your company is a knowledgeable resource when it comes to what’s important to them and their business.

When you demonstrate your knowledge and concern for your client’s business, your client will understand the value in doing business with you.

2. Provide Value to Candidates

Not only should your blog provide value to your clients, but it should also provide value to your candidates.

If you want to attract top talent that is not aggressively on the job hunt, you need to attract their attention by providing information of value to them.

When you display yourself as a knowledgeable company when it comes to guiding top talent through the interview and hiring process with your clients, top talent will see you as more than just a staffing company.  In the eyes of top talent, you will become a valuable mentor and resource when considering job opportunities.

3. Initiate Networking Opportunities

Having a company blog that provides value to potential clients and top talent is an excellent way to generate networking opportunities.  In order to foster these networking opportunities, it is important that you have someone dedicated to monitoring your blog every day.  Replying to comments and keeping the conversation going on blog posts is an excellent way to demonstrate to potential clients and candidates that your company has strong communication skills and is open to conversations.

When you are attentive to the people commenting on your blog, you will open the door to new business opportunities.

4. Promote Jobs

Of course, let’s not forget one of the most obvious ways a blog can help to provide value to future candidates – job advertisement.  If you have provided value based information to top talent, they will continue to visit your blog.  Create ad banners or a section of your blog that will display your current job openings to any top talent that may visit your blog.

You would be surprised at the talent you will uncover by simply sharing with people your job opportunities on your blog.  The people who are visiting your blog may not be visiting job boards or your website searching for openings.  However, if a passive candidate visits your blog to read a post that is of value to his job, he may be enticed by that stellar job opportunity mentioned on your blog.  This is an excellent way to capture someone’s interest in an opportunity even if they are not necessarily on the job market at the time.
